ABOUT

Yulia Nemova investigates invisible architecture — the layers of data, digital presence, and accumulated memory that inhabit a place in parallel with its visible shell, and the regimes of visibility through which they surface.

Each place is treated as an active participant with its own behavior — something that holds time, adapts, and responds to whoever enters it. Across real-time 3D, scanning, video, and hand drawing, digital and physical are held together in the same site rather than one substituting for the other. Every tool is approached from the angle it was not built for: an accident, an artifact, a glitch — the side through which the system reveals what it was not designed to show.

What surfaces, across works, are situations in which the sense of where you are, who you are with, and where your own body ends becomes uncertain. Invisible architecture, in this practice, describes the ordinary condition of inhabited space today, and the question of the work is how much of it perception can hold at once.
