Dissolving house

objects, archival fabric, buckwheat husk filling, real size table (70cm x 100cm x 70cm) and chairs (50cm x 50cm x 90cm)

By drawing on my family’s emigration experience, I offer a new perspective on what home is. I view “house” as not a specific place, but as a complex construct of memory, as a collective image made up of several houses, moving fragments - planes of vision, from fleeting sensations tied to different geographical points, forming a collage object.

A series of soft objects is part of the installation “Planes of Memory”, where, moving deeper into the installation, the planes of the “house” form “rooms”, with soft furniture objects scattered in them, which are still recognizable, but in the stage of decay and softening, like images of the “home” itself. They are made from the archival fabric of my relatives, which survived the change of several houses due to the emigration of my family.
