Living Lyuda

ite-specific VR installation, Gallery Lyuda, Saint Petersburg
Created within the TOK Critical Mass online residency
2 min, 360-degree video with sound, viewable via YouTube 360, VR headset, smartphone, or screen with headphones

A digital twin of the gallery’s physical space in VR — a bio-organism that, like us, changes and adapts to its environment. Sounds from neighbouring walls, water in pipes, electricity, air pressure, density and the sensation of human presence alter the morphology of the gallery’s structural elements. Where Wide Thinker asked what worlds a place can contain, Living Lyuda asks how a place responds — how it feels. The interactive VR installation allows us to observe these changes in real time, from the same point where we stand in the physical gallery, thinking about what it means to exist inside an empathetic, sensitive space.
